01 - Whisk together flour, salt, and sugar in a large bowl.
02 - Beat the egg, then incorporate melted butter and water in a separate bowl.
03 - Combine wet and dry mixtures, kneading until a smooth dough forms; add extra flour if sticky.
04 - Cover and let the dough rest for 10 minutes.
05 - Divide dough into 8 equal portions and roll each into a very thin circle, approximately 2 mm thick, on a floured surface.
06 - Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F (175°C).
07 - Fry each dough circle individually, maintaining shape with tongs or over a metal mold, until golden and crisp, about 1 minute per shell.
08 - Remove shells, drain on paper towels, and allow to cool before filling.
